The short version
RepCode is built so you can verify who's contacting you without creating an account, downloading an app, or handing over your personal information. We collect as little as possible, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- The code you enter. When you type a RepCode into our verification box, we use it to look up the organization it belongs to. We don't ask for your name, phone number, or email to do this.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our servers automatically record things like your browser type, device type, and approximate location (based on IP address) to keep the site secure and running well.
- Emails you send us. If you contact us at support@repcode.org or partnerships@repcode.org, we keep that correspondence so we can respond and help you.
What we don't do
- We don't require an account or sign-up to verify a code.
- We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
- We don't use your verification lookups to build an advertising profile.
- We don't share your lookups with the organizations you verify, beyond an anonymous count.
How we use information
We use the limited information we collect to operate the verification service, prevent abuse and fraud attempts against our own systems, improve the product, and respond to you when you reach out. That's it.
Data retention
Verification lookups are retained only as long as needed for security and fraud prevention, then deleted or anonymized. Email correspondence is kept while your request is active.
Your choices
Because we don't require accounts, there's nothing to delete or manage — you can use RepCode without giving us anything identifying. If you've emailed us and want that correspondence removed, just ask.
