What RepCode is

RepCode is a free verification tool. When a bank, business, or organization contacts you, they can give you a short code. You enter that code on repcode.org to confirm the organization is genuinely who they claim to be. No account, app, or download is required.

Using the service

  • You may use RepCode to verify as many codes as you like, free of charge.
  • You agree not to attempt to guess, brute-force, or reverse-engineer codes.
  • You agree not to interfere with the service or use it to harass or defraud others.

What a successful verification means

A successful verification confirms that the code you entered was issued by the organization shown, at the time shown. It is a strong signal that you're dealing with the real organization — but you should still use good judgment. Never share passwords, full Social Security numbers, or one-time login codes with anyone who contacts you, even after verification.

No warranties

RepCode is provided "as is." We work hard to keep the service accurate and available, but we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RepCode is not liable for losses arising from use of the service.

For organizations

Organizations that issue RepCodes are responsible for how they use them and for the accuracy of the information displayed when their codes are verified. Misuse of the platform — including attempting to impersonate another organization — results in immediate termination of service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page, and continued use of RepCode means you accept the updated terms.
